Cobb Democratic Women focus on ERA Amendment and runoffs at holiday celebration

Cobb Democratic Women held their annual Holiday Open House yesterday at Brawner Hall in Smyrna, Ga.

Billed as a gathering of "good wins, goodwill, good works, and good cheer", hard working local Democrats celebrated the holidays but also urged voters to go to the polls on Tuesday to continue work started during the last election.

"I lost my partner (the late Dr. Beth Farokhi), but she wanted us to make sure that the ERA Amendment is passed in Georgia," said a very emotional Dr. Nasrolah Farokhi whose wife died earlier this year from cancer. Georgia has not ratified the Amendment.

After the ERA Amendment was discussed, toys were gathered to donate to needy children.
Another topic discussed after the meeting was new software to utilize in the next voting cycle.

Volunteer Mike Holzknecht said Democrats got very close to winning in many local races  in November, and he's working hard to help in the next election cycle.

Ga. State Representative David Wilkerson (D - Powder Springs, District 38) said he ran unopposed in November and looks forward to another run in 2020.

McMurray and Levy said the ERA Amendment is important.

Beth McMurray and RuthE Levy posed in front of Christmas tree at event and urged voters to read up on the ERA Amendment and vote for it being ratified in Georgia.
