National PanHellenic Council and WCLK celebrate the holidays at Macy’s

The Cobb County, Ga. branch of the National PanHellenic Council  (C.N.P.H.C.) along with Jazz Radio Station WCLK and Macy’s turned Cumberland Mall into a Winter Wonderland filled with sights, sounds and shopping discounts in metro Atlanta. It took about six months to plan and coordinate the event, according to one of the participants.
Billed as the “Divine 9 Christmas”, fraternity men and sorority women paraded and raffled for their scholarship fund.

The event also had some loyal Georgia Bulldog fans in the audience.

WCLK Personality Morris Baxter of Morris in the Morning radio program hosted the event via a live broadcast.

There were lots of videotaping, cellphone picture taking, and laughter abounding. And a lot of purchases being made at mall stores.

A fashion show of PanHellenic regalia was produced to teach models how to perform on a runway at local fraternity and sorority chapters.

Concert-quality singers from Berkmar High School in Gwinnett County sang a repertoire of hymns and spirituals acapella and accompanied by a keyboardist from Pebblebrook High School, conducted by Choir Master Dr. Changa Miller.

Presents were wrapped, and hugs were given for free.
