Today's factoid: Frederick Douglass was a banker!

Frederick Douglass was not only an orator and abolitionist, but he was also President of the Freedman's Savings Bank in Washington, D.C.

The online release of the Frederick Douglass Papers is made possible through the support of the Citigroup Foundation and the Library of Congress. For more info, go to: http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/doughtml/doughome.html.
