Buddhists define love as freedom

"... Buddhist love includes those forms of love that are characterized by freedom. Love that involves clinging, lust, confusion, neediness, fear, or grasping to self would, in Buddhist terms, be seen as expressions of bondage and limitation...to love only in optimal conditions is not real love."Gil Fronsdal

  1. "My definition of love comes from my Holy Prophet, Muhammad, who taught his followers that, love humankind without distinction of religion, race or social status and that God is Gentle and loves gentleness in all things. He said cheer people up and do not repel them."
